About the School

New Dawn Educational Centre is a Community Based School located in Huruma Village between the outskirts of the affluent Runda Estate and Karura Forest.  

Today, New Dawn Educational Centre comprises four classrooms, two science laboratories, a computer laboratory, a library, offices, a staffroom, school kitchen, appliances storage and a multipurpose hall.  NDEC has a team of 11 qualified graduate teachers, a secretary, 2 kitchen staff, 2 cleaners and 2 security guards.

Our school aligns to the requirements of the ministry of education. This allows students to learn deeply from many perspectives. Even though at times he resources maybe limited, we ensure our learners explore courses across our classes and curriculum.

SPIRITUALITY

Spirituality in all its aspects must be nurtured and affirmed to ensure human beings, especially young people have a full quality life.  A key part of our vision is to nurture children’s spiritual awareness and develop each child’s spiritual character.

EXTRACURRICULAR

We offer learners more than just coursework and examinations by encouraging students to take an active role in all aspects of school life. We support them to develop the skills needed to challenge themselves, and utilize what is on offer.
